The answer to the meta is a 6-letter 2-word phrase
I'm sorry, but I just couldn't help myself. If you had enough of a certain thing last month then maybe you should skip this one. But if you are still with me then jump right in and start your search for the meta answer which is a 6-letter 2-word phrase. Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here: https://www.ephesusscroll.com/about/interest4.html. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta!

Very nice. Didn't really notice any of them first time through until I got to Bile nerd and was reminded that I should be looking for spoonerisms. Took two passes to get Phone killer, but the rest were straightforward. Confess that I anagramed to look for possible answers because even though I had them written in grid order I'd split it 3 and 3 and INS PIT didn't look like anything. Once I saw SPIN IT on the options list I was like 'aaah.' Fun stuff, thanks.
Fun puzzle, I couldn't make the letters line up but I knew what it had to be, so Done and Fun or Fun and Done depending. As the golfer said on seeing all the flyers about shoes with nylon pegs now being available, there were some real cleat news.
Very cool. Got tripped up for a minute with WOOD GUN - I was going to Good One = ACE, as in, a hole in one is an ace, or an ace in blackjack can be a good one, etc.

I was so sure that "good one" referred to ACE, got stuck on that for a while.

Wood gun! I don't think I would have gotten it (certainly not easily) if the title hadn't been a very intentional giveaway :-)
Yes, I didn't want to make it too difficult. I can imagine this puzzle as a Gaffney week 4, with a more enigmatic title and normal cluing so that the 2 word clues don't stand out.
Love the Spoonerisms, but "Spin it" is not a phrase in my active lexicon. Still, I went with it as my first guess even though I think "sin pit" would be more interesting.
Took me forever to get NICE! I was looking for a thing or a person … HELPER, FRIEND, JEWEL, HUMANITARIAN…. Just didn’t think of it as a comment! This was brilliant!
