Actually, Cindy did 97% of the work. Well constructed Mikey!

      Thanks Mikey

Hmm.... difficult as there are often so many unintentional anagrams and such subtle ones hide. (And the Rice Output threw me)
I have to back solve the E. I don't think its EGAD (from AGED) and it ought to be MOPEY to ???? I can only come up with Myope.

Thanks for the 1A/53A hint! Not my strongest suit, but I managed most of them without an anagram solver.
Looking forward to the next ones

ANGERED/ENRAGED was the last one I found. I was stuck on ANYHOW/ANYWHO but that seemed a tad inelegant. Anywho... I was looking at MAYHAM and figured I need to backsolve to find the E. Great job, as always!
                • benchen71 🤓13:33 · 2023-05-22T11:02:55.733Z
Tricky! Lots of starting at the grid, wondering what to anagram (if that was indeed the mechanism) and then I saw ANNA GRAM. SO I knew I was on the right track. :-)

Impressive construction! and fun to solve tho it took me quite a while to spot the metanism. Thanks Mikey!

Took me a minute, but finally solved (and before nudges!). Very nicely constructed, Mikey!
                            • DrTom 5s · 2023-05-24T21:15:39.262Z
VERY nice! I had a sneaking suspicion it was anagrams, simply because I know you are a cryptic fan. When I finished I said to myself, "Wow, LEMON is not a fruit I'd associate with seeds, it would be more like grapes, or apples or even melon...hey, wait a minute. Then I just went looking for the very generic clues. After I had M Y H and M I knew what it had to be. Took me a while to change ANGERED to ENRAGED. I never saw the ANNA GRAM (DOH!) and I have to admit I am not sure how ALDA and RICE go together...though I am sure I am going to like it.

Typical physician, Dr.Tom — you can’t read your writing. It’s AIDA not Alda! 😜

This may well be true, but even so I did not know Time Rice and Elton John had an opera...now I do, all I have to do is wait for it to come up again in a puzzle!

Didn’t see the puzzle posted until late and then worked all day, so won’t be picking up many points this week!!!

Loved it! How cool are anagrams!? ANGERED, ENRAGED and DERANGE all from the same seven letters! Nice puzzle, Mikey!
                                  • ReB 3s · 2023-05-26T02:44:42.507Z
First nudges sent me off looking in the wrong direction, but the 5th nudge set me straight (though I did have do some backsolving to find the anagrams for the last two letters). Have to say also that "total" also led me look for something more complicated.

I stared at it for a while, but once I saw ANNA and GRAM . . .
