I hate HATE cryptics, but I think if I had a glossary and someone to teach me how to think like 58D58DCryptic crosswordese for a word split between the beginning and end of a grid entry (hint, hint)[----], I could see its appeal.

- MrTheHan 6:01 · 2023-11-15T20:07:27.234ZManaged to get the four coats after stumbling down some "alternative" possibilities (HOMES, BEER, BEIGER seemed like they could work with the theme!) but it was satisfying to find the connection once I picked up on Dulux. Took longer than I would care to admit to find the right phrasing for the meta, though!

- Aussie solvers should have seen them as quickly as US solvers see US sporting teams or classic US TV shows or US TV hosts or... (you get the idea!)
