Happy Monday
Hey, for once, I actually know the origin story of this puzzle.
It was inspired by the Muggle tendency to use two different words to describe the process that leads to a meta solution. Are we looking for a mechanism? Or is it a metanism? Let the argument commence.
Thanks to
Wendy Walker and
Abide for test solving. Thanks as always to Joe Ross for tech support.
Nudges Wednesday, solution on Sunday.
Hope you enjoy!
cheers,
Alan
I sometimes forget to post nudges here on Crosshare, but you can always find them in the XWord Muggles Forum discussion thread, which is also a fun place to discuss the puzzle with others. The thread for this puzzle
is here
Today I also remembered to post them here :)
Nudge 1: The title suggests the method
Nudge 2: Look closely at the two different descriptors in the title. Do either of them remind you of any grid entries?
Nudge 3: Try replicating the change in the title with 6 symmetric grid entries
Nudge 4: Now you should have 6 new words, so do the usual thing
Nudge 5: No anagrams required. Take things in grid order.
Nudge 6: Have you found a word that doesn't seem to fit the prompt? Perhaps even not an English word? How might you get from there to a different word?
