    Excellent meta! It seems that RUN is the answer because it appears in every clue, thus demonstrating many of those many definitions you referred to in your introduction. Very cool!

      I submitted RACE first. I thought that the title hinted at that, as in Cross Country Race. A marathon is also a race. Actually, I thought that since RUN was in almost every clue, that it could not be the answer. Still, well done and very fun.

                    That's awesome! It reminds me of a puzzle I once saw when I was younger that was the flip of this. It looked liked a typical crossword, but the word SET was in the grid 15 or so times, clued differently each time (I looked this up - not the puzzle - but apparently "set" has the most definitions of any word with over 400!). Keep on constructing! It's a wonderful art, and I hope to see more from you!!
