Almost discarded it because it looked like EIGHT and some junk letters. Was distracted for a while by ADDING, but got some help over the line. Fun idea, thanks.
Very nice Chris, took a little interpreting and as I was teasing out the numbers and got EIGHT I thought, "What?" Then I got the rest and the AHA was super. That must have been tricky to keep straight when building, I know that "have to be specific places" can be a real landmine when filling.
Thanks for the puzzle.

Took a hard shove from a friendly muggle to see this. But very impressed once I did. Thanks for the puzzle, Chris!

I too got waylaid by "ADDING" prior to the step by step specifics of the last nudge. I needed all of them! Without them my next WAGS would have been TELEVISION or STEAK. Fun to finally pick up on the correct path and answer. And I echo DrTom about the construction intricacy of the puzzle.
Thanks, Chris!
P.S. I was hoping the answer would be RIB, but alas that was not to be...

Had the right concept from the title, and made a list of the prime squares and their letters. But then I overthought the second step (the prime again step) because I was misled by 64A and kept trying various ways of adding the prime numbers together ["again"] as the renumbering step. Once I saw the nudge about just renumbering the set of primes from 1-18 then the second step was "in your face" obvious. Nicely constructed.
