It took us a while also. Saw all the notes quickly, but didn't see that all were used twice except for those two. I think it was harder than a week 2.

Clue for 19a confused me.

Explanation: The seven notes DO, RE, MI, FA, SO, LA, and TI take center stage for this meta. Per the title, we should have seven of them - and the same seven again! Five of these are twice in the grid, but only two - FA and SO - appear once. And you might have a map of Burkina FASO in your home! But the more apropos answer would be SOFA. Sofa, so good!

Too hard for me! I found the notes very quickly, but the title suggested adding them, and the alternate title suggested subtracting them. I never stopped to count how many times each one appeared!

Tough grid, but I resisted the temptation to Google anything. Once I had 28A, the solution quickly followed.

Okay. I am never going to be ever solve a "count the number of times a thing appears and take the ones that only appear once" puzzle. Never, ever, ever ever.

So the answers not a SCALE?

For three days I assumed 28A was a reference to the abbreviation N.B.

Found the notes and tried playing them on a keyboard. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t sound like anything:). But while trying, I noticed the two times each except for so fa.

I couldn't see TIRE for the longest time! Playing off the Spanish elsewhere in the grid, I guess you'd say it threw me.

Lol. I did this one too quickly and got FA and LA... so I was like, fa la la la la... putting "boughs of holly" around the halls of the house? Second look, and I saw there were two LAs on the left side and no SO... Now, I'm off the couch! Thanks, MikeyG.
