Yep, right in my "wheelhouse", Dow. Glad you enjoyed it!

That was fun. Gilligan's Island was always a favorite back when. Now I will attempt to find the Easter Eggs. But I am never good at that, so I don't hold out much hope!
Thank goodness you did not pick Bob Denver's other sitcom, Dobie Gillis! Imagine trying to clue Friebus or Faylen! As usual Rick, I asked for a substitute batter and you hit it out of the park. Great meta and what a nice clean fill...particularly considering all of those eggs.
Not just cute, absolutely adorable! Yeah, Backus was the give-away -- "Why didn't he clue it as....? Oh, that's why."
Super job, Cap'n! Thanks for this fully packed carton of eggs -- with not a one broken!
Maybe we'll be able to convert her someday, Chris. Thanks.

Like Hoover, Saw Denver, and then Hale....knew it had to be a missing crew member.
Fun fact...my dad looked just like Alan Hale, Jr. when it's done remind me and I'll post a pick.
Nice one, Rick! Although my generation, didn't get it from Backus. Got it from Denver and Wells (was always partial to Mary Ann). Does bring back memories. Thanks for the puzzle!
Nice one! Wasn't really familiar with these actors' names (before my time- I saw tiny bits here and there on Nick at Nite growing up, but probably never a full episode), but had a hunch this was going to be the characters from some island/boat show- took a few minutes to go through Lost, Love Boat, etc before I remembered Gilligan's Island. Bingo!
Pretty much immediate upon grid completion, as my eyes happened to rest on Backus and then Denver, and I think I've seen every episode of the show. :) Very fun, thanks.
Fun puzzle. I answered GINGER, but out of curiosity, would LOUISE or TINA LOUISE have been counted correct as well? It occurs to me now that LOUISE is more consistent with the grid entries.
Hi SJMcK. Yes, "Louise" or "Tina Louise" were the primary answers since they matched the form of the other "cast" members in the grid. But to keep things light and fun I am also accepting GINGER (for which there is a separate mechanism).

Ack! I just found the alternative metanism for GINGER. This puzzle just continues to delight!
Great, Matthew! I'm not sure how many folks noticed this added element.

So much fun - this one is definitely in my wheelhouse. Loved all the ancillary fill, too. Now off to make sure I find all the Easter Eggs. Just sit right back...
Like every afternoon after school, the Gilligan's Island reruns would be on (in rotation with I Dream of Jeannie, Bewitched, Star Trek). I was a child of the seventies. This brought back great memories. Thanks!
I think I was on the same schedule as you, Joe. All good memories.

Can’t believe how long it took me to get the meta, considering how much I used to watch that as a kid (in reruns already, in the late ‘60s and ‘70s, as I recall). But the only actors’ names I was familiar with were of course Tina Louise, Bob Denver, and Allen Hale (from the classic Robin Hood movie!). And I think I can sing the theme song by heart! What fun — thanks Cap’n Rick!
