The Missing Link

Constructor's Note
Midi Challenge: "Missing!" Clues in parentheses are part of the game. For these clues you will find a word that fits with all three of the other words. For instance (Breaking, Paper, Letter) would be News - "Breaking NEWS", "NEWSpaper", and "NEWSletter "
This puzzle is based off one of my favorite trivia rounds at my local pub. Clues in parentheses are part of the game. For these clues you will find a word that fits with all three of the other words. For instance (Breaking, Paper, Letter) would be News - "Breaking NEWS", "NEWSpaper", and "NEWSletter" There is a lot of filler around these clues to help out as well. June Midi Challenge: "Missing!"

Makes me want to play "The Missing Link" for real! Fun concept. With the on-the-nose title, you could have gotten by without 22A

Yeah, I guess that was excess for sure. I was worried it might be too hard if I didn't put enough filler and obvious answers around, but I think I in turn made it too easy. Thanks for the feedback though!

Really fun take on the "missing link" theme. I enjoy when crossword constructors manage to throw in another "game" into their crosswords and especially enjoyed figuring out the themers.
