Mini: Going Postal

A little practice puzzle. I spent all day trying to make this work the other day, and kept getting stuck with bad fills and nonsense words. Today, I tried moving the black squares to the opposite corners, and the fill came together in about two minutes.

Nice one! Funny how moving the squares like that can make such a big difference.
I'm looking at a cat LOAF as I type this 😹

thanks! In retrospect, I should have realised that the first version wasn't going to work - you end up having to fill O---F and E---A, which are restrictive enough together to have a knock-on effect on the rest of the grid. Crossword filling isn't a skill I have yet, but I'm working on it!
