Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here: https://www.ephesusscroll.com/about/interest4.html. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta!

Nice!

That was alot of fun. Good clues, grid and a solvable meta. Thanks, Ben.
This was fun but.... didn't you do this mechanism before? I certainly seems familiar. I don't think I'd have gotten it this quickly if you hadn't done it before.
Arrr! Ye can't fool an ol' salty sea dog, Benchen. Arrr!

Very nice! This chemist appreciates an H2O puzzle! Thank you, Ben!

Nice one! It was only after I solved the meta that I realized that the 72A clue is a hint for the meta.

Happy new year! Thanks, Ben.

"I fear thee (not quite so) ancient foreigner." Liked the poem (actually even read the whole thing years ago) and of course the mechanism. I was all ready to start looking for other names for albatross and things related to weddings when I got to clue 72A. Of course at clue 65D I started looking for letters in a V shaped pattern...I'm never one to let a perfectly good mechanism go uninvestigated. Thanks Ben

Very nice. My first thought worked!

I confess to a bit of a leg up too; but good fun as always! Thanks, Ben! (And thanks for introducing me to Purl!)

Fortunately I didn't have to wade in too deep to get this one. Fun fill and meta, thanks Ben!

a nice “I’m sick of working… what can I do for fun?” afternoon pick-me-up. THanks Ben!

This was just the right level for us to deal with after the first day of work after vacation! Happy New Year!
I got caught on the one double-letter (IN), but otherwise, nice meta. I'm pretty sure we've seen this metanism recently but hey, maybe I learned something.
72A was a most efficacious nudge. I was hoping from the title (and 40A) that the answer would be ANCIENT MARINER, but that didn't quite work out. Nice way to start off the year.
