    Really nice! Fun "Aha!" moment for each themer since they were all missing something different. I think there was a bit of a typo on SOIC though: SUIC would make it suPERSONic. Otherwise SUPER fun!

          The theme is admittedly a bit tough to see. For the record, on 28a I was going for TAKE A BEATING/MISSING A BEAT.

            TBH, I cashed out when I saw the note at 22A that the answer contains a typo... this misstep kind of took the wind out of my sails, although I was enjoying the solve up to that point. Bigger picture, this would have been next-level great if the words were still legit even after the "missing" component was removed.
