Also an important meta-solving supply. Fun, as always!

I might have to invest in some!!

        Very nice construction!

Definitely about the second or third grid! The top required a bit of work!

          Nice one.

It's going well so far! Already September! One month, one day at a time!

Nice one. Thought I was going to need nudges, but I stumbled onto the right path after all.

Nice one, Mikey! Perfect second AHA moment! =)

Love those a-Ha moments (perfect for blaring "Take on Me," of course!)

A+ Mikey! I needed the nudges - I had a similar rabbit hole when I saw EYES in the grid but couldn't get any further with that or make the leap to the top.

I passed with your A+ - and you passed the trail as well! Nudges are okay in this classroom!!

So that's where the other letters came from! I "only" needed 4 of 5, but if I'd gone for the fifth it might have helped me avoid getting hung up on adding an E to SHAM
                        10A SHAM"Is that a genuine decorative pillowcase??" "No, it's a ___!"
                        for TAUNT
                        55D TAUNTRidicule (*)
. But ultimately I had enough to see the fun that was going on! Thanks, Mikey! Great summer of solves!

You're too kind and have been such a warm champion of my puzzles, and I thank you! Summer of solves is fading away, but I'll still be "falling" into metas!

Oh.... had to actually do a google search for "school supplies lighter" to get it.
Cool puzzle. Not easy but clever.

Used all five spoilers, and even then, struggled bunches before the 'aha' moment. You guys who can see their way through without the spoilers: Impressive! TFTXWD.

Tricky one - wasn't sure I was going to get it! Nice puzzle.

Anyone mind posting some steps on how you get to the meta? This one had me stumped. Also, I'm surprised that 14 across (no i in meta) turned out to be a false clue... Threw me for a loop.

In retrospect, that silly addendum by me should've been discarded (I have a lot of free-wheeling clues and need to be careful that any free-wheeling-ness doesn't affect the meta), so apologies on that.
                                        • Samik 23:14 · 3 months ago
Ahh, that's really cool, great puzzle! Nah you're fine just started dipping my toes into metas so I was really digging deep for anything and attached abit too hard to that supposed clue hahah. Great stuff.
