Meta Prompt
The meta answer is a famous fictional character
I came up with this in response to a different puzzle that did not seem to make sense really, but then you could say that about all of mine. I apologize in advance for the somewhat "crunchy" fill. I ran into more constraints than I originally thought I would. At any rate this is just an "extra" puzzle and I kind of needed to get it out now (when you solve you will probably see why). Have fun!!!
A recent WSJ meta had as its title 1+1=5 and the answer to that meta was BOND. Many people did not see the link, though there is indeed one (a pair of numbers that always add together to make another, larger, number)
Someone who missed it said, "they should have had seven pairs of 00's, that would have made sense...and I agreed
My first idea was just 7 sets of 00s but then I thought, "OK, add something else!"
I decided I'd add the first name of 7 men who had played James Bond 007: Sean, Daniel, George, Pierce, Roger, David, Timothy
I also threw in 38D IAN FLEMMING, just for added emphasis, and of course the title refers back to the WSJ puzzle AND has a 00 in it.
All that adds up to the meta answer 007/Bond/James Bond (I took any of those)

Nice! 7 double "OO"s with DANIEL (CRAIG), TIMOTHY (DALTON), GEORGE (LAZEMBY), PIERCE (BROSNAN), SEAN (CONNERY), ROGER (MOORE), and DAVID (NIVEN) all in the grid. Very clever!

So many people commented that they thought the 1+1 = 5 with the answer of BOND should have been 7 pairs of 00s that I thought, "You know, they are right!". Initially I just had 7 "bonds", then I thought, well we need 00s as well.
I hope you noticed 38D (near middle) IAN. I HAD to clue that as Fleming....
Thanks for being an "early adopter" Ben, now I'll ready myself for yours.

I don’t know why but sometimes when you sleep on it, bam! There it is the next morning staring at you in the face. (Could be I saw the 7 in Benchen71 and it triggered the subconscious… ) Clever to include all the Bond actors, didn’t pick up on that.

Well that's because they are secret agents...they are good at not letting you know they are there!!!😊

Very nice. I got stuck for a while on the letters surrounding and/or preceding and/or above/below the OOs, and it was taking me in a Mr. Robot / Mr. Roboto direction. Then... oh, yeah, there are 7 of them. Stop making this harder than it needs to be, Kurt!

Yeah this was meant to be a drive in the park - not a drive in the park in an Aston Martin DB5 with ejector seats and machineguns or missiles. 😁
