        Answer: HEINZ
Metanism: The five goofy themers each include a popular brand (HONDA, EGGO, IKEA, NESTLE, ZOOM - yes, the Z is a tiny stretch, but even the Muggles meet on Zoom, which exploded over the past couple of years). Their initials spell HEINZ, the answer to the meta, which is fitting for Puzzle #57! Note also CAT and SUP in the center row and the allusion to tomatoes in the clue for 57-Down.

Fun, especially after this week's MGWCC. Great clues, as usual. Thanks, Mikey!

I relish a quick & easy meta that allows more inexperienced solvers to catch up.

Nice! I had to rush through it so we could head up to visit our son in Pittsburgh, home of Heinz!

I'm 3 for 3 this weekend. Which doesn't happen often!
                          • kurtalert 17:23 · 2023-06-10T19:20:27.643Z
OK, this is kinda crazy - 43D and 54A could also be PULLE (the immature offspring of any animal) and ELSIE (L C - fits just as well as S E for ESSIE). I went over the puzzle 3 times, every clue/answer, and couldn't figure out what I had wrong. Had to do the Check Grid to see what was off. Wild! Great puzzle!

Lots of witty cluing, as usual. Nice to have a breather this week. I'm a bit puzzled by the chorizo reference to Britain, as I associate chorizo with Mexican food trucks/restaurants.

I think "omelette" is more of a British spelling. "Omelet" is more standard in the US.

Fun! I did the same thing with PULLE and ELSIE, but as a nurse I do prefer PULSE.

I started late and was afraid I would not catch up or that I could not cut the mustard. Some of the fills left me in a pickle but I relished the thought of continuing. I was working on it while eating and at one point I asked myself "what this here sauce om my Hathaway shirt!" In the end I was Krafty enough to prevail and did not have to try 57 different varieties of answers. Thanks Mike, typical fun clues.
