    There are 5 US Presidents named in the GRID. Clue 33A makes reference to #44 meaning President Obama. That gives a hint to look at the Presidential numbers of the other 5. The square that corresponds to the presidential number has a letter in it which, in this case, spells POTUS. These initials leave quite an impression!

        I was looking at first initials and middle initials (Monroe had none) until I remembered this clue. It worked as intended. Nice puzzle!
