Constructor's Note
This is my third and final gift to someone else. There are no personal clues in the grid, though 13a and 16a it helps to be British and have a bit of knowledge of slang. When you're done, there was a hidden message to the friend I wrote this for, you can see if you can spot this at the end.

        Very nice cluing and word choices! I really like the primely indicator in 15D. One nitpick: I think 23A needs to just be "Bret" (otherwise the hidden word has too many Ts)
