Happy New Year, folks!
... what do you mean I'm late? R u d e.
Something I'm hoping to get better at in the new year is finding good fill! Let's just say it's a work in progress - but practice here does make... well, not perfect, but at very least better. I was going to clue the starred clues with "?" clues at first, but everything I could come up with for 16A was either "bleh" or "Yikes", so y'all get this. Hope y'all enjoy!

      URE is either wordplay... or a river in Yorkshire. Which, as a Lancastrian, I'm Contractually Obligated To Not Use.
      ELOGE/AGNI seems to be a sore spot - I thought it might be grokkable from ELOGY (which is the substantially more common word), but alas. Leaning, ahoy!

      Fun puzzle with some tricky pop culture references and lots of fun puns/wordplay. There was definitely some hard fill to clue here (ENOW, ALIN) so I think you did a good job overall. Never heard of a 16A which also set me back.

        Glad you enoyed! Yeah, WHITEPARTY is surprisingly uncommon - I know it from Season 9 of Rupaul's Drag Race so I figured it was in the known vocab of culture, though apparently the xword dictionaries don't have it. Weird!
