This Might Be a Crossword

It seems I'm not the only They Might Be Giants fan who's also into crosswords: hence this puzzle whose clues consist entirely of TMBG lyrics (though I think it's plenty solvable even if you don't know any of their songs)!
Initial inspiration came from solving Malaika Handa's Taylor Swift crossword on her 7xwords project at https://www.7xwords.com/daily/01/01-13.html (and that project also played a huge part in my deciding to try out crossword constructing in the first place!).
