Cryptic Crossword with a Mystery Theme

· By wisprabbit · Published 2023-05-21T08:01:51.356Z

Constructor's Note
A cryptic crossword with a theme. You don't need to figure out what the theme is to solve the crossword, but it might help to confirm one or two of the harder clues.
I made this cryptic with the website Cohost in mind, but you might like it too! I've tried not to over-complicate clues - there are still some tricky ones, but hopefully enough easier ones to let newer solvers make some progress. Also there shouldn't be so many clues that require you to be British to understand. (Well, maybe one or two.) Reference dictionary is the Collins Dictionary website.
I post crosswords and logic puzzles on my Twitter: https://twitter.com/wisprabbit

I finally got around to this one, and loved it! Lots of words I didn't know, but still managed to get through fair wordplay, which is my favorite thing about cryptics.

Running through puzzles from Cohost before it shuts down. Can't get the parse on 14A, and I can't figure out the Mystery Theme either.
      Good puzzle, though.
