- Glad you got it, woozy! I was just having a little fun with the literal 4th letter of the word "July". Then the 4th letters of the 7 "Y" words in the grid spell the answer.

As a riddle where the grid was irrelevant the puzzle was exceedingly unexpected. If there actually was a mechanism in the grid it has eluded me for over 12 hours. So in either case I'd say it was indeed quite challenging.
