Hole One

Meta Prompt
The grid represents a park in which there is a hole of a golf course; the circled square represents the cup. The score associated with this hole is hidden diagonally in the grid. A competitor (perhaps 9A or 33A) has finished this hole. After the grid has been completed, the ball’s position before each shot and its final position in the cup are revealed. The meta answer is the name that would be given to this competitor’s score.
Hints for the meta:
Hint 1: the first shot went over the sand trap in the middle of the grid. Hint 2: the starred clues give a hint to the meta answer. Hint 3: the place where the ball started forms part of one of the starred clues. Hint 4: it also forms part of the hidden score.

That's very clever, indeed! You managed to cram in a huge amount of thematic material - very impressive!

Agreed, the theme density is impressive, well done!

Nicely done! I know you commented about us having similar entries, but I genuinely like how creative your board, clues, and the meta information was portrayed. You are more skilled than I!
