I don't know HOW you managed to STILL make this solvable (and fun to figure out) with the whole halving gimmick. Took me a while to realize that 1D is the revealer (also, I'd like to see the full clues, even though most missing words can be deduced).

Hey thanks! Glad it was indeed solvable - this was one of my more outlandish ideas.
I didn't actually write original clues (I worked within the 'every second word' constraint to make the clues legible), but a post-Endgame version is a good idea, so here y'all go:
      • 1A THEUSA Springsteen's birthplace, in a famous song
      • 4A HORNED Like some owls, bulls, Satan, or a standard orchestra?
      • 5A ARABLE Worth farming
      • 6A NASALS The letters 'n', 'm', and 'ŋ'
      • 9A OCELOT Relative of the bobcat
      • 10A SERENE At peace
      • 1D THANOS Disney villain who's a bit snappy? (And whose actions have impacted this grid)
      • 2D HORACE Roman poet who wrote 'Satires' and 'Ars Poetica'
      • 3D ERASER What a British person calls a rubber (no, not that one, Yanks!)
      • 6D UNBALE Unpack, as hay from a bundle
      • 7D SELLON Turn a profit by vending again
      • 8D ADESTE First word in the Latin version of the carol 'O Come All Ye Faithful'

damn what a puzzle... this was really fun to figure out... had to reveal one to get started, but once i did i took out pen and paper to make the 6x6 and proceeded to spell ocelot wrong which lead me to look for more gimmicks

this was fantastic!! at first i was trying to enter every other letter like in the title, but eventually caught on to what i was supposed to do. such a cool concept, and well executed too!

Turns out if you snap a grid by taking out every second letter, there are no more entries to clue!

your puzzles always baffle me (in the best way)... loved the clue for 1d. even if i couldnt solve this one i had a good time trying to figure out why the solution was what it was
