      Very clever theme! (Seems really conducive to a meta.) We are big fans of 40D and it seems ripe for more usage in puzzles! Also love seeing 42A (especially clued this way). Finally, loved the clue for 55A!
      I think I get the pun 9A is driving for, but can’t for the life of me parse the clue. Don’t really understand 13A either. For 56A I think “complement” (or “partner”) is more accurate than “opposite.”

      I liked this! Got snagged on a few of the clues and was hung up on 22A because I still can't see the connection, but had fun! Surprised this is considered a double diamond but makes me feel better about my puzzles which are counted as double diamonds lol.
