    Thanks for the puzzle! Crosswords are tough without being fully checked because there are multiple possibilities for entries; like 17A, where I first tried RECTOR and LECTOR. I loved the thematic cluing, though for consistency's sake on a theme, 9A felt out of place because they were spelled differently. I really, really like the clue for 1D.

        Fun, but also what @illogicaljoker said — 1A and 5D stymied me. (And I also agree on 9A being inconsistent with the rest of the theme set.)
