Stellar!! Love music metas -- and super-sized grids!
    • DJB 6s · 2022-07-24T00:16:32.765Z
      Loved this one!
      • oldjudge 1:24 · 2022-07-24T00:30:36.318Z
I literally never heard of any of the songs. Who would name a song Orinoco Flow? Is that like a modern version of Old Man River? That said, a fun and challenging puzzle—thanks Mikey!
        • RPardoe 🤓2:24 · 2022-07-25T01:10:58.812Z
And that as my toehold to the second step as I know the song well (listened to it way too many times in college.)

And, now, the comment that will not endear me to anyone: I was born the year that song came out.

I think I might have been listening to "Orinoco Flow" when I came up with the idea for the meta, actually! Thanks for your kind words!

This is the perfect example of a meta with two substantive steps. OCHEr and SPINet are going to have some rabbit chasers... Thanks for the consistently fun puzzles!

Thanks to Oldjudge, who shoved me down the meta Orinoco River. Nicely done, Mikey!

                Good one Mikey

Great grid. I thought Sad(e) was a good answer until I got a nudge.
                    • whimsy 🤓33:30 · 2022-07-26T02:57:47.529Z
Wonderful solve! Tough-going but fun. Before I tweaked the letter order I was feeling as though the answer could be Beat Up!

Bahahaha, I've felt that way with some metas before!

Wow. I can not believe I knew enough about popular singers to get this!
But I don't know much about there songs. I got three of them and was able to guess the remaining three letters.
                        Very well done.

Except for the Cher song, I have never heard the others. Fun puzzle, though. With great clues, as usual!

I think I overestimated the number who have heard of "Orinoco Flow"! Thanks!!

Considering you think a song from 1988 can qualify as a "classic", I think you overestimated a lot of things. :)

Wow! Just found this puzzle today and what a puzzle it was. Definitely needed Google since I don't know these artists at all. I guess I'm too old. Thanks for the entertainment.

I was stuck on step one since Sunday. KEGLAR? PASSEC? (grr) Then this morning my eyes noticed "Orinoco flow?" and I was off to the races. Great puzzle!
