What I did with my resolutions on January 1st
Well Happy New Year! Somehow I managed to land the big holidays this year (well not somehow, they did both fall on a Wednesday and it won't happen again until 2030/31) so I tried to make date appropriate puzzles. The Christmas one (What would Santa Say) was a kitten but this one is not. I'd say this is probably Persian level if I had to guess, but as you know everyone's experience is a little different.
Hopefully you woke up this morning (I doubt many will have stayed up last night solving metas) clear headed and ready to tackle DrTom clues and humor, both known for bring a bit wonky. Therefore, before you go starting on your own resolutions, try mine! My thanks to Al Sisti and Larry Bray (if I have forgotten someone please remind me, I often have so many puzzle out for testing over a long duration that I forget) for test solving and valuable feedback in honing this for Muggle consumption. Therefore with no further adieu, resolve your self to tackle New Year's Resolution.
Interestingly New Year Resolutions probably started around 2000 B.C. with the Babylonians during a festival called Akitu. This was the start of the farming season to plant crops, so they made promises to return borrowed farm equipment and pay their debts. There is no written record as to whether they did any better with theirs than we do today.
