Equivocation (Meta)

Meta Prompt
The answer to the meta is a Beatles song
This puzzle is titled "Equivocation". Now, I might be using the word incorrectly; but I'm just following Shakespeare's example, so hopefully you'll get the idea. If you can see through the fog and filthy air, you should arrive at the answer to the meta which is a Beatles song. Answer & explanation: https://www.xword-muggles.com/viewtopic.php?p=113064#p113064
Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here: https://www.ephesusscroll.com/about/interest4.html. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta!

I just guessed based on your remarks about the title. Now to solve...

Now you know what you're looking for! And there is an additional hint in there, too.

Fun! I won't argue about 66A but I do have a soft spot for Ferb :-)

I ... have no idea how to solve this.
But I've had my share of 26A in the Whitsunday Islands.

Nice one, Ben. Saw the additional hint — clever.

Yeah, not getting this. Hello and goodby are opposites and there's two clues that are homophones for HI and one clue that is BYE and then SSE, NNW clue refers to opposites but none of those can be it.
I thought there be replacing foul things with fairs things in clues or entries but there is none of that.

Only a handful of grid entries have antonyms...
                  • woozy 26:43 · 2022-11-22T23:56:07.670Z
                    Oh.... I see.
Hmmm....... Existence of antonyms is fairly subjective. But it works.
                    • BarbaraK 2s · 2022-11-23T03:30:57.791Z
Existence of antonyms for across entries that are clued as parts of song titles is a bit tighter:)
                      • woozy 26:43 · 2022-11-23T17:42:13.342Z
But they weren't the only clues about song titles.... oh, they were.... Funny, I did look for song titles but concluded there was not anything there.

Wait, that was the mechanism?! I just thought it was the HAi BYE combination...

Whew, I kept spyhopping around and finally spied a portion of a rattite - Gosh Ben you don't challenge us by half. Still, I knew the song early "You say yes, I say no, you say stop, I say go, go go." I liked the "Easter Egg" 4A and 67D - HALO BYE. I figured you probably tried to make HALO 1A but the grid wouldn't let you? So, I've had my holiday vocabulary lesson, now to get on the road. Happy Turkey Day to all of those who celebrate it (and Ben if you don't you really ought to give Gluttony Thursday a try some time)

The Easter egg is the symmetrically placed (and clued as songs) HAI BYE. Wishing you all a very happy Thanksgiving!
                              • Carolyn 3s · 2022-11-23T23:25:51.115Z
Really fun! I used the HALO/BYE and figured that had to be it, along with the title and quote of course. Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for all the enjoyment you bring us.
