So Sundays are supposed to be smooth, but unfortunately this one got caught in the Thanksgiving morass. I had written down a different date so that is why this is late.
It should follow the usual SSS format of being pretty straightforward. I mean it was inspired by another SSS so I am hoping the apple does not fall far from the tree. It was dutifully tested by Cap'n Rick and boharr so it ought to be fairly glitch free. There is an abundance of "Tomish" clues, hopefully my attempts at being clever did not push this into a more difficult arena.
I will post nudges in a little while since I was kind of caught off guard and wanted to have something up for your Sunday enjoyment. I figured everyone would be more accepting of an earlier release and later nudges as opposed to later all around.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the meta and also that you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday.
NUDGES:
Nudge 1] There are several things in daily speech and writing that indicate emphasis, at least two of those are present in many of the themers.
Nudge 2] The Captain's 11/23/24 puzzle is what was the impetus for this one, or at least a part of it was; particularly the reference to an old educational TV series
Nudge 3] The meta prompt is really two-fold here, it tells you what you are looking for and it tells you what you are looking for.
Nudge 4] Once you find the theme answers the next part is VERY common.
Nudge 5] HOLY COW! I hope I didn't ruin the AHA! moment. Alas! sometimes that happens with nudges and if it did allow me to say UGH and OUCH!
REVEAL:
Six "Interjections" were in the clues. These are words that are used to call attention to something, and are essentially "Done for Emphasis". Think of this as a companion piece to the earlier "Conjunction Junction" which was also based on a Schoolhouse Rock "lesson".
The clues were (all across and symmetric))1,22,40,43,60,73 and yielded the answers:
PSSTS
HUH
OUCH
OOPS
EEK
YIKES
The letters of those answers form the meta answer PHOOEY!
