Fun! I first found the square MEAL, and even though it wasn't quite part of the meta, it got me on the right track.

      What a coincidence! Completely unplanned!
    • SporcleMirror 🤓4:28 · 2022-06-11T17:37:31.645Z
I didn't even see the square INCH and kept telling myself that a square CHIN is a thing (but now I see, the four "square" words all start in the top left and go clockwise). Didn't even find the AWAY square until after I solved the meta, I had the F, I and R and FAIR looked like quite a fitting answer. Also, the square MEAL from TWOTIMESTWO and ALASNO kept staring at me even though it doesn't follow the same pattern as the other squares.

I didn't even notice that until after I finished it, to be honest! I went back and forth trying to figure out the pattern, and it was only a matter of which one the fill would agree with first!!

        Nice one. Thanks

            Indeed it is!!

            Interesting idea

Thanks for the shoves and the puzzle. I never would have gotten it without the shoves. I was being too literal with the central entry...
              • whimsy 🤓11:05 · 2022-06-15T02:06:31.773Z
When I only had INCH and FOOT, I saw TARE and nearly tried using that as measurement-related. But then I saw ROOT, and FAIR-ly soon figured it had to be FAIR not FIR -- even though there's also a PINE in there. :) Back solve time for the A! Thank you, Mikey!!
                • Naptown Kid 20s · 2022-06-16T12:04:46.418Z
Thanks, Mikey. Enjoyed it. Like many, the Away was the last word I found, and by then I was looking at all the A’s because the other three letters indicated FAIR. Nice job of hiding answers in plain sight.

Yeah, I really had to push it with SQUARE AWAY, though our family says that a lot when SQUARING AWAY I.O.U's, haha. But a back-solve is okay with me!

Took me FOREVER, but found it. Thanks Mikey

Well, it was until the meta at the end 🤷‍♀️
