    Nice!! Fun fact my cat is named after Granny Esmeralda "ESME" Weatherwax. (People think she must be named after the character in "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," but no.) Also 27D reminds me of my favorite animated clip: https://youtu.be/IDHVf0D6y8s. PS - I think in 1D that should be "by" not "my."

      I had NYT instead of LAT and I was very wrong - turns out that LMAO has been used in 12 NYT crosswords. Which is honestly more than I was expecting.

        LAT also doesn't allow BADASS. I know this from experience. I would not have guessed the LAT was more uptight than the NYT, but there you go.
