    Looks like the mini/midi distinction has to do with the total number of cells (<=49 is mini, a 5x10 already counts as midi). Though I might be wrong.

      8x7 is a mini in my book. I don't care what the crossword police say. 8x8 could go either way. Once you have 9 rows or columns, you're in solid midi territory. No rhyme or reason behind this...just a feeling. Anyway, nice puzzle!
