Interior? Exterior? Whatever. The title's not going to give any hints.

Meta Prompt
The answer to the meta is an interior design feature
Okay. Although the grid might be weird, I really think this ought to be a Week 1.
EDIT: Wow! This is playing harder than I would have thought possible. But I'm not changing my evaluation of it being a week 1.
Nudges: Do I really need to give nudges? Surely two identical answers, which happen to the same as the very adjacent clues means something.
And isn't rPET a weird clue if the answer is a simple GREEN? and is E.T. a good definition for ASTRAL?
And isn't KVETCH a difficult entry for that position. Why would I twist myself into knots for that? Maybe because I needed something to fit the clue?
I can understand the clues for 1 and 7A look natural but surely the clues for 36 and 37A and for 63 and 64A seem weird
Okay so going up and down the sides of the puzzle we have something. And in three places between these somethings we have something. So we have thing to thing thinging
I still say this was a week one

Saw the walls and the carpets. Couldnt think of the answer! Had to reveal haha. There should be a term for picture grids that don't cheat and use colors or circles like I do
      Thanks woozy

Ohhhh... I had noted the juxtaposition of clues 1A and 7A and the WTFery of the 37A clue, but somehow didn't notice 36A, 63A, 64A. I don't understand 47D though. I googled the term and came up with a system of tiling showers. [After more googling] Oh! First of the two-pointers would have done it for me. I was thinking first of the two (as in there are two of them) pointers (as in things that point to the meta, or dogs, or ...).
