Went heavy with the names again, but tried to clue them in accessible ways (and included some nudges in the clues). Apologies for the marginal fill that resulted… please give me honest feedback about whether it was still fun to solve! The clue for 5D is from Joe DiPietro's NYT crossword on Saturday, August 1, 1998. Cover photo by Sir Manuel on Unsplash.

That was tough without the nudges. And in fact I didn’t get a chance to do that; a funny thing, maybe unique to this platform (my iPad, tested this on Safari or Chrome), is that once I filled in all the letter to one answer, the nudge was visible. The black block was still there in the clue, but the text was now gray, and could be seen amid the black.

I had no idea on most of those having not seen the TV shows.
