                The second puzzle this year where a "challenging" one falls faster than some easy/medium ones, I should go buy a lottery ticket this week! Everything I tried worked to a tee, except for a slight detour where I looked for mini 5x5, 4x4 grids in the puzzle to no avail. You can also spell BROOM with 24-D and 23-A, two 3-letter answers so I'm very glad I didn't fall down that rabbit hole.
                Very nice mechanism and love how everything comes together in the end. I'm curious as to how this was initially more challenging than the current version.

                  There were a LOT of numbers in the grid and the clues. Including the word TWO crossing FOURSQUARE. Several paragraphs of my emails to Will last week were variations on "you gotta get rid of these red herrings, you are way underestimating how hard this is." Also the title was different.
