I’m not the author, but 43D is "A to B" as in point a to point b. 49D is the Greek letter X. And I’m not sure what the initialism is for 47F but I assume it has to do with the Mayo Clinic, so something medical?
Spot on for 43D and 49D, but 47D is a suffix clue (EVANESCE and OPALESCE). Definitely my least favorite part of this puzzle - but necessary to get the required 46A to fit.
The ESCE clue was 44D; I actually figured that one out. 47D is MES.

I believe 47D is the Spanish word for “month.” Mayo should be read as the Spanish word for May, so the answer would be “mes.” Something I ONLY know from doing crosswords!
