    Very tough puzzle. Lots of proper nouns that don't seem to be common knowledge, and thus pretty difficult to get crosses.

      Puzzle was definitely on the harder side, but appreciated the inclusion of 47A. More people should know his name.

        I enjoy hard, themeless NYT-style puzzles the most, and so that's what I have been gravitating towards when I create them.
        But since I don't really know what I'm doing I'm afraid they might be more frustrating than fun. I hope this had some fun moments. Thanks for solving!

            Do ok! I was really happy about that one, because DOOK looks funny, but also because eke ends up in so many puzzles it was fun to put it in a clue instead
