The theme is eluding me on this one, which is at least in part because I've never seen spongebob, but google wasn't enough to yield the answer either.
      • I struggled too. After watching the video here, I could see how certain words in some of the clues have had a W ("for wumbo") replaced with an M ("for mini"), which need to be swapped back. Namely: 14A
14A BERLINSite of a notable mall
        , 1D
        1D LOVEROne that moos
        , 5D
        5D TUBPlace to mash
        , 28D
        28D ADAMActor Mest
        .
The fact that the central revealed doesn't specify how many or which clues, and that the impacted entries are placed throughout, certainly makes it harder.

The trick in this puzzle alludes to how Patrick set Mermaid Man's belt from M to W, so all the clues with "M's" should be flipped to "W's"

Oh they're in the clues.... that makes sense now, I would never have thought to look there once the grid was full. I'm also not confident in my knowledge of European cities to know there ISN'T a Berlin mall! Fun stuff tho
