Constructor's Note
This is part of a series of crosswords in which a particular shape is revealed once complete. In this puzzle, each of seven clues describes a word that is one letter short of the corresponding grid entry (if there are multiple instances of the unclued letter, pick the first one). For example, the clue "Behind time" would indicate LATE, but the entry might be SLATE, LATER, or even LATTE (with the first T unclued). The unclued letters, reading left-to-right and top-to-bottom, will spell out the shape that you can draw (in three dimensions!) by connecting those same letters with straight lines. Finally, look for something appropriate on the top of the shape to tie everything together.

The explanation would be clearer without a doubled letter example

Good feedback! I've updated the instructions, hopefully that'll help future solvers. Thanks!

Explanation: The seven clues (ordered by unclued letter) are:
        • 8A SITU(P)
        • 2D LI(R)E
        • 6D OW(E)N
        • 14A (S)HONE
        • 18D D(E)ER
        • 20D A(N)NA
        • 25A (T)HUNK
Connecting the letters appropriately reveals a 3D box (with a present inside, presumably), with a BOW on top.
