            Just curious - was the grid based on anything in particular?

              No, though it does kind of look like a robot (?). Because of the disparate lengths of the theme answers (14/14/12/10) I had to go with vertical symmetry and a 14x15 grid. I also tried to minimize the number of 3-letter answers, and the grid emerged from those considerations. Thanks for solving!
