Wracking my brain for the connection. Asked ChatGPT - didn't come up with anything interesting.

The OO rebus represents a [diaresis](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diaeresis_(diacritic)); specifically, it's the diaresis over the I in NAÏVE. The title is a reference to the preponderance of diaresis in the New Yorker's articles.

Fun, but I couldn't figure out how to enter the double letters. My confusion I'm sure...

On phones, press "more" in the bottom left of the keyboard then "rebus".

If you're on a computer using a keyboard put the cursor in the space and hit Esc - it'll let you type in as many letters as you want.

I didn't notice that I had changed STOOL to STOLS after I got ALVIN and SEES in there. Got the spelling error and then FOFL 😂 I threw in the OO rebus and everything was good. Fun puzzle!
