I would like to thank Go Away I'm Sleeping and Liari for testing this puzzle, and politely (but firmly) explaining that indirect hiddens shan't be a thing.
I'll leave this one without a blog post full of helping hints, because I'm getting lazy and there are so many (or because I think it's good enough to try and persevere with, you pick :) )

    Thanks for giving this one a go! Plenty of fun things in here, I hope you agree.
    The inspiration for the grid was learning that the two longest words in the English language without repeating letters are Dermatoglyphics and Uncopyrightable.

      Nice one; particularly enjoyed 7d and 25d. Last ones in were 27a and 23d, which I couldn't parse.

        27A uses a particularly rude lift& separate (of 'e as t')) before an anagram
        23D is a def/cryptic def. To be coughed up ~= to be paid, a la a loan
