High Time

Illegal recreational drugs put in many an appearance in cryptic crosswords. The word DRUG in a clue can clue the actual or slang name of any drug (MARIJUANA/CANNABIS can = HEMP, GRASS, WEED, POT, HASH etc., COCAINE can be CHARLIE or COKE, HEROIN can be HORSE, SMACK etc., AMPHETAMINES can be UPPERS or SPEED). However, DRUG can also clue the single letters H (heroin), C (cocaine) or (and, in my experience, it's this one most of the time) E (ecstasy). Also, the sailing jacket, the REEFER, is enormously popular in crosswords. In the following crossword, some, but not all, of the clues are drug-themed.
