    The only place I had trouble was the crossing of 20D (new to me) and 26A (in a language I don't know).

      I felt a bit bad about including 20D - he's a big name in the classical world, which I love (used to have NSO season tickets), but certainly far from a household name. Thanks for solving!

        I think he would be totally fair game if I had ever lived in/around DC for any length of time! I think reasonable along with SOLTI, MEHTA, ALSOP, DUDAMEL, TOSCANINI, etc.
