Some amazing fill in this one, especially the spanners — very nice!
I could not find my one typo for the life of me — but it was a poetic parallel with the title 😉

Whoops! Thanks for solving and for pointing out the creative spelling in the title.

Wonderful! I'm slightly more used to "mollusk" than "mollusc" (is the latter more British English?), but I got there eventually.
        • JeffsPuzzles constructor · 2024-07-22T00:32:57.153Z
Thanks for solving! Mollusc is more British, which I didn't realize til now. I'll tweak the clue to fix it.

          Great challenge, thanks.
Noticed some slight repetitions in 36A ("I") and 8D ("life"), but they didn't detract.
