Constructor's Note
As a note on today's puzzle: in putting these together, I am often faced with the question of what I include and don't include, particularly with news that is often horrible or heartbreaking. I have been on hiatus due to going on a honeymoon delayed three years due to COVID and a lot of the news in the past couple weeks has been truly tragic. In constructing, I have and likely will continue to err on the side of not including these stories as it is difficult to do without feeling exploitative or voyeuristic. This does not undersell their importance or the importance of recognizing the impact these tragedies have had and will continue to have on communities and society more generally. For now, at the very least, I just want to say rest in power to Tyre Nichols and all those who have lost their lives in senseless killings these past few weeks in the US and globally
