You SHOULD see my comment with parses, but then again I’ve recently had an issue where some comments just don’t show up. Something similar happened when I asked you for a parse on your latest cryptic.
In case you can’t see the comment: ”Added to” = definition, “live” = RESIDE where you replace R[ecognition] with B[roadcaster]
Ok yeah, the parses just showed up for me, I’ve noticed the delay on comments showing up has been a bit slow lately too. Figured that’s what happened since you usually post your parses :)
Sorry for the issue! What's happening is that Crosshare has a (quite sensitive) filter that checks for potentially inappropriate comments and holds them from the site until I manually moderate them. I try to do that as responsively as I can but sometimes it might take me a while if I'm sleeping e.g.
I think the parse explainers are slightly more likely to get held just because they tend to be long. Thus they're more likely to have a combination of letters that the filter thinks merits a look by a moderator.
I got a bit more experimental, so to speak, with those clues. Modern stuff (the abbreviation VO and HARD PASS) that you would never expect in, say, a Guardian cryptic, and I've never seen "put another way" as a reversal indicator, but it seemed to make sense to me. I see your point though, hopefully those clues didn't impact your enjoyment much during the solve.
Oh, it was fun! And you'll see I solved without helpers. I just wasn't sure on those three. 4D: The "or" reversal was subtle, but I see it now! 5D: I don't use "hard pass" in my own vernacular, so it wasn't in my head and I decided AWARD was the "victory" and took the "first" off it to get WARD, so you see I wasn't there at all. 11D: I had AVOIDED or ELUDED and tried to get DUB in there as the "voice over", so figured it there was a "British thing" going on there. haha But as I said, I enjoyed the cluing. Cryptic puzzles challenge my lateral thinking, and I'm following you here so I look forward to more! :D Thanks again. btw, if you wanna try a meta, check out my latest: https://crosshare.org/crosswords/l1FneLOYZovFzAAP2drD/wheres-carmen
