Cryptic #9 - The Answer Is...

· By jasonwestley · Published 2022-03-01T13:01:02.202Z

Constructor's Note
This puzzle does have a theme, but it only features in four (symmetrical) answers, and isn't particularly important to the solve. I think the puzzle is somewhat harder than many of my other cryptics, but hopefully not too much so!

Got there in the end! 13A13AIn first signs for Shakespeare's unfortunate lovers, Juliet's conclusion is “You kiss by th' book,” perhaps (6)[------] very enjoyable. I wrongly had GRAPPLE for GRAPNEL27AHook up, finally, with knight in regal dance (7)[-------] and that got me stuck for a fair bit.

Thanks tuber! Once I had the basic idea for it, that clue took me longer to write than most of the rest the puzzle put together, so I'm delighted you liked it.
