Thanks for the input and trying out my grid! Since propels is not plural, I don't think that applies. But I did change the clue to, "in a pair it propels a raft." I also corrected the spelling of propels.

Ah, I was thinking of "oar" as a verb, like "oaring a raft" == "propelling a raft". Fair play, thanks!
