Themeless, Schmemeless!

· By Aaron · Published 2022-02-09T22:46:45.220Z

Constructor's Note
15x15 70-word themeless. Mainly a practice run at a low-word open grid; the fill probably could be smoother and less PPP-heavy. Aiming for old-school NYT Friday difficulty.

Great puzzle! I couldn't get FSERIES40DLine in a country song?[-------] but it seems so obvious now 😂

Fun! I had DIRTPLATE for the longest time thinking "that's a fun way to phrase eat dirt". Whoops! :)

I might like DIRTPLATE more actually! (IMO it's just as green-painty as DIETPLATE56AIt's eaten by losers[---------] but somehow DIETPLATE56AIt's eaten by losers[---------]'s the one that scored on my wordlist)

But two of the helper squares are necessary for the theme, so IMO they don't really count!

I like that you call them helper squares instead. I'll have to remember that next time I add some to a grid!
